PARENT CORNER

PARENT INVOLVEMENT:

Parent CornerISE welcomes the involvement of our parents in school activities as Christian education must involve the parents and their children. Parents may help the school by doing the following:

  • Pray Daily for Faculty and Students: Good works on behalf of those who pray. Be faithful and patient in your daily prayer support of the school.

  • Attend School Functions: This shows your child that their education means a great deal to you as you are making the efforts to attend the function. Students who excel are generally from homes where parents place a high value upon being involved with the school. Parent may get involved with the following:

    • 5-Hour Volunteer Requirement: ISE requires all parents and guardians to perform 5 hours of volunteer work per year per family. Volunteer work brings you into close communication with the teachers, staff and other parents. You may see a campus administrator or the corporate office for volunteer needs. A Parent Volunteer Form must be completed and verified through administration to receive proper credit.
    • Parent Teacher Organization: ISE's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) serves as a type of organism that is designed to be a vital communicative element to strengthen the relationship between parents, children, teachers and administrators. It provides forums where everyone involved in the learning process can discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the various departments, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods. Visit the PTO’s website at www.innovationschoolpto.com.

GRADELINK:

The parent interface of Gradelink provides parents a means to stay up to date with their child’s current academic progress, view attendance information, behavior, work study habits, view grades from past terms, and setup email alerts.  You should be using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher to access the parent interface.  If you have a Macintosh you may also access the parent interface using the latest version of Firefox.

LABELS FOR EDUCATION:

In addition to the regular fundraising activities, parents are encouraged to collect product labels from those companies that donate back to schools. This form of activity is on-going, easy to do and is year-round. All parents have to do is pay close attention when shopping for groceries and miscellaneous items, identify those products with the appropriate label and upon use of the product, cut out the label and submit it to ISE. All funds will go toward school supplies and building classroom libraries. The primary labels for education that ISE participates in include:

  • General Mills Box Tops for Education: Located on Kleenex brand paper products (Cottonelle Tissue and Viva Paper Towels), General Mills cereal boxes and related products
  • Campbell’s Label for Education: Located on Soups and related products
  • Tyson Project A+: Located on chicken products
  • Drink Pouch Brigade: Located on Capri Sun and Honest Kids drink pouches
  • Harvey’s Hometown Rewards: Parent must visit Harvey’s Groceries for information concerning product participation.
